WHO AM I?

I began my career as a Presbyterian minister working in four different churches across the country from New York to California, and eventually Dallas, Texas. After 15 years, I felt an inner call to work with sick children and their parents.

I worked with the families and children at Childrens Medical Center and Dallas, providing emotional and spiritual support in extremely challenging circumstance, both of loss and healing. Eventually, I moved beyond Chaplaincy into the education of Chaplain Residents.

In early 2002, I received certification as an Certified Educator with the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.

In 2003, I moved to San Francisco. For 20 years, I trained chaplains in a year-long resident program. I’ve trained over 120 chaplains for the ACPE. I have worked with physicians, nurses, social workers, child life worker, ancillary staff, as well as administrators in patient care.

In 2012, I entered Creighton University School of Medicine, and received a Masters of Science in Healthcare Ethics. I am deeply committed to the well-being of health caregivers, patients seeking healing and transition, and families working through relationships of love, pain, lost and renewal.
